Norwegian Cod Liver Oil Liquid

I had to write about this. I’ve been supplementing Omega-3 heavily the past few weeks with this “Norwegian Cod Liver Oil Liquid” from Twin labs. I picked it, because it was one of the cheaper on the shelf, and one of the very few (if not only one) that contained no soy.

burpI’ve tried many other supplements over the years for my old sports related (I think) joint pain, including but not limited to; Glucoseamine, Chondroitin, and other Omega supplements. None of them seemed to help except for maybe other fish oils, but they were rancid from the get go and gave me fish burps. Yuck! I didn’t realize that wasn’t normal until I was reading through Chris Mohr’s Nutrition guide, that came as a bonus with Craig Ballantyne’s Turbulence Training which I’ll review later.

Since American’s diets are so full of Omega-6 from subsidized soy, corn and the animals that are fed these grains, it’s pretty important that you make sure you’re getting enough Omega-3 to keep things in balance and keep down inflammation. Problem is, not much of the food supply has much Omega-3 anymore.

whole foodsNow it’s true that I have recently converted to an almost entirely whole foods diet. I’m sure that’s playing a good role, but I’m still eating plenty of grain fed meats and fish like Tilapia, that are loaded with Omega-6. Too much Omega-6 = Bad.

I have to tell you though, this past week my knees have felt incredible! Squats have always been horribly painful and pretty much un-doable for the last DECADE+ due to inflammation. I’m now doing squats regularly and love it. They’re very important for strength.

I though this stuff would taste awful. Just the name is enough to gag a maggot… but it’s really not bad. I mostly blend two teaspoons into my protein shakes. I actually like the texture it adds. Seriously, no fishy burps at all either. I’ve been keeping mine in the fridge for good measure. I’m not really down with rancid oil these days.

Cod Liver OilGo buy some right now and try it. Fred Meyer carries it, or you can get it at bodybuildingcom. Twinlab Norwegian Cod Liver Oil Liquid, 12 Fl. Oz. I prefer you buy from my affiliate link. It won’t cost you any more $ (might even be cheaper) and it also helps motivate me to write more reviews for you!

If you go to Freddy’s, see if you can find the one with mint. It’ll make your chocolate protein shake that much better.
