Super Oatmeal

Posted @ 8:20 PM on March 9, 2009 by Fitness

How to make “super oatmeal.” I love oats, although I eat mostly groats and steel cut oats. I make similar batches of stuff like this super oatmeal all the time. If I use regular rolled oats like Quaker, I generally leave them raw. I also use Twinlabs Norwegian cod liver oil instead of flax.

In the video below, sports nutrition expert Bob Seebohar, highlights the importance of oatmeal in athletes diets and how to make his concoction.

If you don’t have any baking cocoa, but maybe snacks for your kids lunches… Snack Pack pudding (no anti-oxidants & added sugar) works too, but add less water. Also mashed banana is excellent!

Good grief… this post inspired me. I ate almost 1,600 calories worth of this goop in a binge AFTER dinner tonight. Generally this kind of thing happens after I’m tied up away from home and miss a meal (like today) :(

Shortly after I posted this video, I decided to go paleo. After plenty of research and some passing time eating paleo, I do not condone eating grains. Especially wheat products.
